Why Arizona has no Daylight Saving Time

The state of Arizona listened to the Wise Old Indian.

When told the reason for daylight saving time the old Indian said,

“Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket.”

Biofuels made from grains are causing a massive domino effect across the planet, creating shortages and stockpiling of foods as well as taking up land and resources where grains for human foods were once grown.

Biofuels - a good idea? Are there other options? How long will it take to figure this one out?

Today’s paper headline: “Prostitution may be decriminalized” in San Fran. Why? Proposition K forbids local authorities from investigating, arresting or prosecuting anyone for selling sex. Not technically “legalizing” prostitution, but the law would eliminate the power of local law enforcement officers to go after the heathens.

Okay, here’s the bottom-line. The police need money. $11 mil will be kept in coffers if they leave the girls alone. I suppose there must be more important heathens running amuck out there.

The up and down and in and out (no pun intended) of finances, politics and force are tipped easily, eh?

Today’s Government section of the paper has three articles side-by-side titled as follows:

I wonder what crisis we’re really talking about here?! Geez.

The Seven Blunders of the World is a list that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi gave to his grandson Arun Gandhi, written on a piece of paper, on their final day together, not too long before his assassination.

The Seven Blunders are:

1. Wealth without work
2. Pleasure without conscience
3. Knowledge without character
4. Commerce without morality
5. Science without humanity
6. Worship without sacrifice
7. Politics without principle 

This list grew from Gandhi’s search for the roots of violence. He called these acts of passive violence. Preventing these is the best way to prevent oneself or one’s society from reaching a point of violence.

    8. To this list, Arun Gandhi added an eighth blunder, rights without responsibilities.

Do we have a second right answer to help kids stay in and not drop out of school?

“Every 26 seconds a school age student drops out of U.S. schools.” I heard this on the national news recently.  Nearly 7,000 American kids drop out of high school every day.

Why?

What year is this? The “WE’RE NUMBER 1″ country in the entire world?! And, these are our current stats on our kids? What happened? What is happening? What will it take to change it?
